Greetings, Iam Rula Dughman ,founder and director of the gallery , For the last decade (2004-2014) I have been living in Bethlehem city-Palestine. A city that holds an extraordinary spiritual and historical significance due to its unique religious and UNESCO World Heritage sites, where one can find some Roman, Byzantine, and Islamic archeological ruins.
As someone with passion for art and culture, it was noteworthy for me that the city that welcomes more than one million local and international visitors a year, have only rare art spaces that features creative local art that reflects the real identity and authenticity of Palestine.
And hence, in 2017 , Bab idDeir Art Gallery was established as independent gallery aiming to work and promote diverse of emerging and prominent Palestinian artists that reclaim the Palestinian narrative and identity through their art; And to offer them the opportunity to connect with local and international communities.

The Gallery is located in the old city of Bethlehem named by Bab IdDeir (meaning in English the Monastery area) which is the area around the nativity church as known by the locals that once was very vibrant with markets and tourists.
Additionally, the gallery includes a shop – a small showroom that promotes young designers - to provide them a space to show their unique pieces, including jewelry, ceramics, textiles, accessories, clothing and fine art prints, that are are inspired by Palestinian heritage and culture.
In May 2024 – after seven years working in Bethlehem, Bab idDeir Gallery opened its new space in Ramallah, to celebrate the transformative power of art, as we are always determined to present artworks that speak volumes about our collective strength and resilience.
To make Palestinian art accessible to everyone and to support and promote Palestinian artists; Bab idDeir is pleased to present a collection of limited poster style prints for the most significant artworks that were part of Bab idDeir exhibitions and online shows. Currently, the available size is A3 (11.7 x 16.5 in).
